Recycling is going to be big. Until very recently China used to take all the worlds waste which they stopped. Most of US and developed countries donot have an adequate recycling infrastructure and they just used to export it to China.
Now since China stopped, it gets routed to Malaysia
The regulatory framework around this is very loose and as such that becomes as rigid as emissions, it will be hard to build a recycling infra. Governments have to subsidize it initially.
Today most of the waste just gets dumped into landfills or oceans sadly.
